Year 4's visit to Hunstanton - June 6th to 8th 2016
On June 6th, the pupils in Year 4 traveled to Hunstanton for our residential visit. On the way we visited Castle Rising and while we were there we searched for fossils on the beach, went to the Sea Life Centre and visited Snettisham Farm Park. Take a look through some of the photos to see what a fantastic time we all had.
The Grand Opening of our Garden Classroom Space
Thanks to FISH (Friends In Support of Highgate) our tired, old quadrangle has been transformed. It is now a beautiful garden classroom space complete with benches, artificial grass and some beautiful plants and decorations. Pictured below are snaps from the grand opening which took place on Friday 6th May 2016 (and what perfect weather we had for it).
Backing the Blues...
On 29th April, the whole school got behind the campaign to support our local football team. We hope they do well and achieve their dream this weekend...
Pig of Happiness
School Council visited the Build a Bear Factory on 23rd March as part of a Character Education project. After watching Edward Monkton's "Pig of Happiness" they wanted to increase the school's reserves of happiness and shared the video with the whole school. The School Council members helped build a stuffed Pig of Happiness that will become the prize for the most positive class each week later in the year.
World Book Day - 3rd March 2016
Well done to everyone who help join in the fun this World Book Day. We had lots of activities to enjoy and promote a love of reading. Each of the teachers did a Dragon's Den; pitching their choice of book with the whole school and allowing the children to chose what they would like to listen to. We rang the bell at impromptu moments where the children Stopped, Dropped and Read. We also did the usual dressing up as book characters but promoted it with a number of staff dressing as Where's Wally (and then creating our own Where's Wally picture in assembly to share on Twitter). Even the Pig of Happiness got involved and paid us a visit (thanks Mrs Smith!)
